Dohoo's AI transcription feature converts the spoken audio in your video and audio files into accurate, formatted text. Whether you need subtitles for a YouTube video, a transcript to repurpose as a blog post, or captions to meet accessibility standards, the transcription engine handles it automatically — no third-party tool required.

## How to transcribe a file

    Open the **Transcription** tab and upload the audio or video file you want to transcribe. Files must be uploaded separately from the **Transcription** tab — even if a video is already in your media library, you'll need to upload it again here to transcribe it.

    Choose the language spoken in the file from the dropdown. Selecting the correct language improves accuracy significantly.

  <Step title="Wait for processing">
    Dohoo queues the transcription job. You can monitor its progress in your **Dashboard** — the status updates from *Processing* to *Complete* when it's ready.

  <Step title="Download or copy the transcript">
    Once complete, open the transcript result and click **Download** to save it as a `.txt` file, or **Copy to Clipboard** to paste it elsewhere.
