Dohoo’s AI transcription feature converts the spoken audio in your video and audio files into accurate, formatted text. Whether you need subtitles for a YouTube video, a transcript to repurpose as a blog post, or captions to meet accessibility standards, the transcription engine handles it automatically — no third-party tool required.

What AI transcription does

Upload any audio or video file and Dohoo’s AI extracts the speech, adds punctuation, and returns a clean, readable transcript. The engine achieves 85%+ accuracy and supports multiple languages and dialects, so your content doesn’t need to be in English to get quality results. Key capabilities include:
  • Multi-language and multi-dialect support — transcribe content recorded in a wide range of spoken languages
  • Automatic punctuation — the output reads naturally, with sentences, commas, and paragraph breaks added intelligently
  • Plain-text export — download your transcript as a .txt file ready to paste anywhere

Transcription minutes by plan

AI transcription minutes reset each month. Each minute of audio or video processed counts against your monthly allowance.

How to transcribe a file

1

Upload your file to the Transcription tab

Open the Transcription tab and upload the audio or video file you want to transcribe. Files must be uploaded separately from the Transcription tab — even if a video is already in your media library, you’ll need to upload it again here to transcribe it.
2

Select the source language

Choose the language spoken in the file from the dropdown. Selecting the correct language improves accuracy significantly.
3

Wait for processing

Dohoo queues the transcription job. You can monitor its progress in your Dashboard — the status updates from Processing to Complete when it’s ready.
4

Download or copy the transcript

Once complete, open the transcript result and click Download to save it as a .txt file, or Copy to Clipboard to paste it elsewhere.

Common use cases

  • Podcast repurposing — turn a recorded episode into a full text transcript, then edit it into a blog post or show notes
  • Meeting or interview content — convert recorded conversations into searchable, shareable text documents
  • Content briefs and summaries — paste the transcript into your favorite AI tool to summarize, translate, or repurpose
